1932 - 2021
Pierrette Ferland (née Fortin) est décédée à l'Hôpital Sainte-Anne, à Beaupré le 2 mars 2021, à l'âge de 88 ans. Née le 11 août 1932, elle était la fille de feu monsieur Rosario Fortin et de feu madame Yvonne Guay.
Sœur, mère, grand-mère et arrière-grand-mère bien aimée, elle était la matriarche de sa famille Vous la trouviez souvent dans la cuisine, chantant pendant qu'elle cuisinait, car elle aimait rassembler la famille pour les repas et passer du temps ensemble. Elle a apporté beaucoup de joie à sa famille, les enveloppant de son amour, de ses sages conseils et de ses histoires. Elle croyait fermement que c'était notre devoir de travailler dur et de traiter les gens avec amour et gentillesse, et le reste allait suivre. Femme forte de sa foi catholique, elle se souciait profondément des autres et n'a pas tardé à offrir un coup de main à tous ceux qui l'entouraient. Elle et son amour de longue date, Antonin Ferland, ont partagé 71 ans de mariage et de nombreuses aventures, notamment d’immigrer aux États-Unis en 1971 avec leurs 5 enfants. Sa relation avec chacun des membres de sa famille était unique et spéciale. Pierrette reposera à côté de son jeune enfant, François. Elle manquera beaucoup à son mari, ses frères et sœurs restants, 5 enfants et leurs conjoints, 14 petits-enfants et 28 arrière-petits-enfants.
Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Claude, Carol (Colleen Doherty), Jacques (Kathleen Welka), Carmen (Wiley Reeves), France (Randy Dorey) et Feu François Ferland; ses petits-enfants : Shanna Ferland (Brian Lonergan), Natalie Ferland (Richard Corson), Jennifer Ferland (Matt Chapman), Christi-Ann Ferland (Robert Wiltberger), Kimberly Skelly (Steven Lawrie), Cassandra Ferland (Boyd Shropshire), Kristen Skelly (Jesse Manis), George Skelly, Samantha Burgess, Jessica Reeves, Cara Reeves, Matthew Reeves, Joshua Dorey et Justin Dorey; ses arrières petits-enfants : Brianna Longergan, Riley Longergan, William Corson, Jonathan Corson, Trey Chapman, Ellie Rose Chapman, Mason Wiltberger, Dalton Wiltberger, Nathanial Lawrie, Matthew Lawrie, Noah Lawrie, Quinn Shropshire, Keith Schilling, Chase Skelly, Tyler Skelly, Paige Hooghouse, Cassidy Manis, Miranda Manis, Shyloh Hooghouse, Lexy Hooghouse, Landon Hooghouse, Dominic Skelly, Kendall Skelly, Samariah Burgess, Naomi Burgess, Savannah Burgess, Burgess d'automne et Khloe Dorey; ainsi que ses frère et sœurs: Janine (Henri Lachance), feu Pauline (Feu Maurice Lachance), feu Paul Andre (Feu Colette Vigneault), feu Colette (Yolande Boudreault), Jean Noel (Claire Fortier) et Mario Fortin.
Des funérailles pour madame Fortin et son époux, monsieur Antonin Ferland, qui est décédé le 20 avril 2022, auront lieu le mercredi 17 août 2022 à 10 h en l'église de Saint-Tite-des-Caps, où la famille vous accueillera pour recevoir les condoléances à compter de 9 h. L'inhumation aura lieu le même jour au cimetière de Saint-Tite-des-Caps.
La famille tient à remercier les médecins et infirmières de l’Hôpital Sainte-Anne de Beaupré et de l’Hôtel-Dieu de Québec (département du rein) pour les soins et le soutien qu’ils ont offerts.

Pierrette Ferland (born Fortin) passed away at Saint-Anne’s Hospital, in Beaupré on March 2nd, 2021, the age of 88. Born on August 11th, 1932, she was the daughter to the late Mr. Rosario Fortin and Mrs. Yvonne Guay.
A beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was the matriarch of her family. You would often find her in the kitchen, singing as she cooked, as she loved to gather the family for meals and time together. She brought much joy to her family, wrapping them in her love, sage advice, and stories. She believed firmly that it was your job to work hard and treat people with love and kindness, and the rest worked itself out. A woman strong in her Catholic faith, she cared deeply for others and was quick to offer a helping hand to all those around her. She and her life-long love, Antonin Ferland, shared 71 years of marriage and many adventures, including immigrating to the United States in 1971 with their 5 children. Her relationship with each of her family members was unique and special. Pierrette will be laid to rest next to her infant son, Francois. She will be missed greatly by her husband, remaining siblings, 5 children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
A funeral for Mrs. Fortin and her late husband Mr. Antonin Ferland, will be held on August 17th, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saint-Tite-des-Caps’ church, where visitation will take place from 9:00 am. The burial will take place the same day at Saint-Tite-des-Caps’ cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at St-Anne’s Hospital in Beaupre and Hotel Dieu in Quebec (Kidney Dept.) for the great care and support they offered.
